Wow.. I installed Ubuntu 9.04 this weekend. Ran the fabulous auto update from within 8.10 which worked fine. I will not spend too much time praising it, but it worked really well. 9.04 is noticably faster than 8.10. It also looks much better. 8.10 looked good, but the new login screens have a more professional look and the blurred windows and texts below menus are just cool. What I noticed so far on the surface is also the new information boxes regarding networks, battery etc. This far I have not used it enough to tell if it works this much better also below the surface, but it seems to. It's quick and all my "old" applications have continued to work. So, go for it!
