Welcome to Frugal money management blog at samoht.se! This site has grown from what started as the Frugal money management program's homepage into a personal money management blog, of which the program is still an important part. In order to visulize the change the Frugal program has moved to its own page where you will find links, user's guide and information - while the main site will focus on money management tips in general.

This new Frugal 0.22 package includes a py2exe Windows executable, allowing Windows users that do not have Python installed to run Frugal. This removes most prerequisites to using Frugal under Windows.

The package should be viewed as a preliminary release as the binary has not been tested fully. Basic tests have been run on Windows XP but users may experience problems with other Windows-flavors as well as with some use cases. Please provide feedback in the bug tracker.

Frugal is a simple yet powerful personal finance and stock portfolio management application. It provides quick on-line stock quotes and currency rates updates and easy to understand graphical and textual views of your financial situation.

Frugal version 0.22 (beta) adds functionality to handle stock splits.

Frugal version 0.21 (beta) improves the project handling in Frugal. It also adds functionality to include a new currency in a project.

An updated user's guide has been released together with the program.

Frugal version 0.20 (beta) improves the add share plug-in. An input box for "initial balance" has been added to the "Add share" panel to simplify setting up an initial portfolio.

Frugal version 0.19 (beta) improves the automatic price updates. Next to share ticker names, ISIN are now also supported.
