Books

I bought this book in a small bookstore next to the railway station, and it is the perfect book to read while traveling. It is enjoyable, it has a very good pace and it is interesting. It is really interesting.
I am no Shakespeare aficionado so almost everything in the book is news to me.
We know surprisingly little about William Shakespeare. We know when and where he was born, that he had two sisters and that he moved to London, became a playwrite and actor. And that he is today regarded as perhaps the greatest writer in the English language. We know with certainty that he existed and that he wrote and performed plays around the turn of the 16-17th century. (regardless of speculation from a minority of conspiracy theorists)
The book is also a story about Bryson's investigations. We follow him around the world in search of the plays and life of Shakespeare.
It's a great read, and I am really happy that I saw it on the shelves when I browsed the bookstore.
