Books

I have read Dawkins. I have read Harris. And I have read some of Dennett. So there was only one of the four horsemen of whom I had not read his book of critique of religion. Hitchens.
I was slightly worried when I begun reading the book that I had already read all the arguments against religion and would frankly be bored to death half way through the book, but then, this is Hitchens and there was no need of being worried.
I believe he is at his best here, polemic, funny, without any censor. And Hitchens is well read, small tales from history are plenty in this book and reallly adds to the story. If I would be to compare Hitchens to Dawkins, Dawkins makes a rational argument why there is no god, and backs that up with logic and reason. Hitchens does not in the same way attack religion, Hitchens instead takes a more historical view of religion and goes through human development and civilization to make a case why religion poisons everything (the subtitle of the book).
